Transcendence Amulet
This amulet has been created from an electroformed skull of a Noisy Miner bird. Many avian bones are pneumatized, which means they contain tiny spaces filled with air, which allows them to manoeuvre more easily when soaring through the skies, and are also an important component of their respiratory system. Pneuma is also the Greek word for breath, or interchangeably, spirit, and is of course associated with the element of air. These creatures who spend so much of their lives surrounded by expanses of air also host air deep within their bones.
The little skull in this amulet is hinged on a metal bar, designed to swing gently as it moves. All electroformed surfaces are covered with a clear sealant to prevent oxidisation and tarnishing.
Measurements:
Pendant: 6cm in length x 4cm width at widest point
Chain: 45cm copper chain with a lobster claw clasp
