Ostara Amulet
This amulet has been named after the Germanic pagan goddess of spring who was closely connected to the Hare. The amulet features a real Hare jawbone, entombed within layers of copper through a process of electroforming and adorned with a clear Quartz crystal.
The Hare was a sacred and mystical animal to the Celts, a symbol of abundance, prosperity and good fortune. According to Celtic folklore, the Hare was believed to have connections to the Otherworld. In myth, the Hare was linked to Celtic goddesses of fertility, both of spring and of the harvest.
The bones used to create these amulets were scavenged ethically and were found in the alpine regions of Te Waipounamu, New Zealand.
All electroformed surfaces are coated with a clear sealant to prevent tarnishing and oxidisation.
Measurements:
Pendant: Pendant is approximately 6cm length (including hanging chain at the base) x 8cm width at widest point
Chain: 40cm copper steel chain with a lobster claw clasp
