Damsel Amulet
The Damsel amulet features a real, electroformed dragonfly, adorned with Labradorite crystals and a Eucalypt crescent moon. These little nymphs are creatures of the air, but they are also often found close to ponds and pools of water. Liminal places in nature where we find such intersections between the elements are known in Ireland as 'thin places' - sacred places of transition where the veil between this world and the otherworld diminishes and we can feel the closeness of other realms. The edge of a pond where the dragonfly dwells, where sky, earth and water meet is such a place.
The dragonfly's wings in this amulet are preserved in stunning detail, showcasing intricate veining and a soft translucence that catches the light beautifully. The patina on the copper in this piece shows hints of deep purple and dark blue amongst the copper tones.
All electroformed surfaces are coated with a clear sealant to prevent tarnishing and oxidisation.
Measurements:
Pendant: 12cm length x 10cm width at widest point
Chain: 45cm stainless steel chain with a lobster claw clasp.
