The Reliquary Earrings feature two real, matching Hare jawbones, entombed within layers of copper & nickel through a process of electroforming. Each earring is adorned with a small Smokey Quartz crystal.
The Hare was a sacred and mystical animal to the Celts, a symbol of abundance, prosperity and good fortune. According to Celtic folklore, the Hare was believed to have connections to the Otherworld. In myth, the Hare was linked to Celtic goddesses of fertility, both of spring and of the harvest.
The bones used to create these amulets were scavenged ethically and were found in the alpine regions of Te Waipounamu, New Zealand.
